summary
Media in the 1930's was not at all what it is today. The first president to somewhat use media to his advantage was Franklin D. Roosevelt. As not everyone had a TV, and rounding everyone up for a public address was not the best way to communicate with American citizens, Roosevelt used the radio. He would have "Fireside Chats" over the radio once a week, in order to keep the people up to date with his new ideas and policies etc.
