Summary
At the Paris Peace Treaty, George Clemenceau insisted upon full humiliation of Germany. Of the Big Three, he had the harshest financial demands, requiring German disarmament and severe reparations. Out of all the countries, France was the angriest with Germany. Clemenceau wanted Germany to fall so far in debt that there would be no chance of them ever starting another war.
