Summary
Stalingrad stood, and the Germans were forced to retreat, which proved their strength. Russia pushed them back, and liberated Berlin. The end of the war on the eastern front (Kursk), was the largest tank battle in history, which the Russians won. The battle of Midway, resulted in 4 Japanese boats for every 1 of the US. Japanese lost the rest of their fleet in the Battle of Leyte Gulf (the start of Kamikazes). Operation Husky occurred when the Germans were pushed back to Italy by the US, and Britain; the Germans had to fight their way through Italy. And the allied powers got up to Rome in 1944.
